Dear PPS People,

Welcome to Principles of Protein Structure '98-99!

You should have received a message from Professor David Moss on this list
earlier today. I am writing to introduce myself - as coordinating tutor I
will be responsible for the day-to-day running of PPS. Do email me if you
have any queries about the course. However, any specific technical
problems are best addressed to our resident computer guru, Dave
Houldershaw (d.houldershaw@mail.cryst.bbk.ac.uk). Alternatively, just
mail this list.

I will also run most of the tutorial sessions we will be holding using the
virtual reality communication system, BioMOO. The first few meetings,
held next week and the week after, will be specificially to introduce you
to the system. I will post some more details in another message very
soon. BioMOO meetings are not compulsory - we can't expect you to always
be able to connect to the Internet at a particular time - but we hope that
you will be able to attend as many as possible. We will hold some in the
afternoons UK time and others in late evening which we hope will be more
convenient for non-Europeans ;)

If you are worried that you have heard very little from us - please don't
be. We always start slowly as, typically, quite a few students are unable
to join the course until early November. If, on the other hand, you have
just joined us, do remember that there is plenty of catching up time built
into the first few sections.

Good luck!

Best wishes,

Dr. Clare Sansom
