Hello,

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you.

There is absolutely no problem with anyone using Rasmol as a standalone
program instead of as a helper application beyond the small amount of
extra time and hassle necessary to save files to disk, open Rasmol, etc.

The main reason why we don't use Chime (yet) is its non-availability for
Unix. As the world moves on to Chime this has to change - and hopefully we
will find a way of supporting people using Unix (?)

You are also welcome to use Chime for visualisation but you will find
some limitations in Chime 1. There will be no Chime scripts in this
year's course.

Good luck,

Clare Sansom
